Beauties of Nature

Thursday, October 20, 2005

Autumn leaves are one of the most beautiful beauties of nature. If autumn wasn't so cold it would have to be my favorite season. The trees outside our house are speckled with yellow, red, brown and orange. Today is a very typical autumn day. The rain and wind knocked a lot of those beautiful colorful leaves onto the ground. Every footstep that is made in the yard gives the sound of leaves crunching under my feet. Soon the air will be filled with the smell of burning leaves and wood. Next weekend we will be having a typical bonfire where we will set and cook hotdogs and marshmallows.

Until next time, I wish you have a wonderful autumn day!

This image is from our trip to Lake Superior. Wisconsin Point Lighthouse is located on Wisconsin Point, outside of Superior, Wisconsin. It is a very active light house. You can walk the rock pier to the lighthouse, or watch a 1000-foot laker come into this harbor.

We visited Lake Superior at the end of September. Unless you love cold weather, I wouldn't recommend taking the trip so late in the year. But the cold weather didn't take away from the beauty of the lake. My husband and I spent many hours walking along the sandy bank, listening to the water splash along the shore. If I hadn't known any better, I would have thought I was walking along a beach next to an ocean.

I would highly recommend a trip to Lake Superior Point Lighthouse, it is an experience that I will never forget.

I went to my parents house this weekend. My parents live on a small farm in the country. They have a very large yard, which mom has placed some of the most beautiful flower beds in. Fall is already here, and the flowers are starting to slowly disappear. But the butterflies at their house seemed to be as lively as ever. Thankfully I brought my digital camera to take so very nice shots. The picture to the left are a couple of butterflies snacking on a butterfly bush. During my stay I found at one time atleast five butterflies on that bush at one time.

I also snapped a picture of one of her rose bushes. This rose bush was actually from my grandmother's house. My grandma loved flowers, and also had the most beautiful flowers around. She prided herself on her flower beds. It is obvious that my mom gets her obscesion with flowers from her mom. Maybe the desire is being passed down to myself. It would be a blessing if I could be passed down their talent.

I am going to share these wonderful pictures with other nature addicts like myself. They are going straight to my cafepress shop!
